Preparation for Saraswati Puja

  2. Clean the House and Puja Area
    Clean the area where the puja will be conducted. Decorate it with fresh flowers, mango leaves, and rangoli.

    • Place an idol or picture of Goddess Saraswati on a clean cloth or a wooden platform.
    • Keep a white or yellow cloth as they are considered auspicious for Saraswati Puja.

ॐ अपवित्रः पवित्रो वा सर्वावस्थां गतोऽपि वा।
यः स्मरेत पुण्डरीकाक्षं स बाह्याभ्यन्तरः शुचिः।।

Transliteration:
Om Apavitrah Pavitro Va Sarvavastham Gatopi Va,
Yah Smaret Pundarikaksham Sa Bahyabhyantarah Shuchih.

Meaning:

  • Hindi: जो भी भगवान विष्णु का स्मरण करता है, वह बाहरी और आंतरिक रूप से पवित्र हो जाता है।
  • English: Whoever remembers Lord Vishnu becomes pure both externally and internally.

2. Invoke Lord Ganesha

Ya Kundendu Tushar Haar Dhavala, Ya Shubhravastravrta.
Ya Veena Varadanda Manditakara, Ya Shvetapadmasana.
Ya Brahmachyuta Shankara Prabhrutibhih Devaih Sada Vandita.
Sa Mam Patu Saraswati Bhagavati Nihshesha Jadyapaha.

Meaning:

  • Hindi: जो देवी चंद्रमा की तरह उज्ज्वल हैं, सफेद वस्त्र पहनती हैं, वीणा और वरद मुद्रा में हैं, सफेद कमल पर विराजमान हैं, और जिन्हें ब्रह्मा, विष्णु, और शिव पूजते हैं, वे देवी सरस्वती मेरी रक्षा करें।
  • English: May Goddess Saraswati, adorned in white, radiant as the moon, seated on a white lotus, and revered by Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, bless me and remove all ignorance.
