About Shani Dev

Shani Dev is linked to the planet Saturn and is the offspring of Surya Dev and Chhaya. Revered for his stern and unyielding demeanor, Lord Shani is often seen as a harbinger of misfortune. Nevertheless, Shani Dev is the deity responsible for delivering justice and maintaining equilibrium between an individual's virtuous and sinful actions.

The placement of Saturn (connected with Lord Shani) in one's astrological chart, known as the kundli, is believed to influence their destiny and the consequences of their deeds. Therefore, the position of Lord Saturn holds significance in an individual's horoscope. When Saturn is favorably placed, it bestows rewards upon a person. Conversely, if Saturn is unfavorably positioned, it penalizes a person for their wrongdoings.

Shani Chalisa

In the Chalisa dedicated to Shani Dev, he is frequently described as the "black beauty," a symbol of misfortune, and a dispeller of malevolent influences. He is the sibling of Lord Yama, the deity of death and justice, and the offspring of Lord Surya, the sun God.

This is why many people view this particular Hindu deity with apprehension. Shani is regarded as the god of limitations and adversity, responsible for bringing distress, despondency, and sorrow into people's lives. Hence, he is not usually addressed as "Lord" before his name.

Nevertheless, regular recitation of the Shani Chalisa has the potential to instill confidence in one's heart and alleviate the hardships and challenges associated with a horoscope influenced by Shani Dev.
