Tarak mantra is dedicated to Shri Swami Samarth who was a great saint and guru of the Datta sect. He lived in Akkalkot Tehsil, Solapur district of Maharashtra state, India. Akkalkot became very famous after he lived there. 

 

Which God is Swami Samarth?

His devotees believe that he was the third full-fledged incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. He is believed to be the third full-fledged incarnation of Lord Shri Dattatreya after Sripad Vallabh and Srinrusimha Saraswati.

Swami Samarth helped people of different religious sects and imparted higher spiritual knowledge to them. He preached his followers to focus on natural methods of sadhana, meditation and devotion. 

Swami Samarth was a guru who valued the devotion and faith of his disciples and inspired them to follow the right path. There are many monasteries of Shri Swami Samarth in different parts of Maharashtra and India.

नि:शंक हो निर्भय हो मना रे,
प्रचंड स्वामीबळ पाठीशी रे,
अतर्क्य अवधुत हे स्मरणगामी,
अशक्य ही शक्य करतील स्वामी ||

जिथे स्वामीपाय तिथे न्युन काय,
स्वये भक्त प्रारब्ध घडवी ही माय.
आज्ञेविन काळ ना नेई त्याला
परलोकीही ना भिती तयाला ||

उगाची भितोसी भय हे पळु दे.
जवळी उभी स्वामी शक्ती कळु दे,
जगी जन्ममृत्यु असे खेळ ज्यांचा,
नको घाबरु तु असे बाळ त्यांचा ||

खरा होई जागा श्रद्धेसहीत,
कसा होशी त्याविण तु स्वामीभक्त.
कितीदा दिला बोल त्यांनीच हात,
नको डगमगु स्वामी देतील साथ ||

विभुती नमन नाम ध्यानादी तीर्थ
स्वामीच ह्या पंचप्राणामृतात,
हे तीर्थ घे आठवी रे प्रचिती,
न सोडी कदा स्वामी ज्या घेई हाती ||

atarky avadhut he smarangami

Jithe swami paay, tithe nyun kaay?
swaye bhakt praarabdh ghadvi hi maay
adnevina kal naa nei tyaalaa
paralokahi naa bhiti tayala ||

Ugich bhitosi bhayan he palu de
jawali ubhi swami shakti kalu de
jaagi janm mrityu ase khel jyancha
nako ghaabaru tu ase bal tyaancha ||

Khara hoi jaagaa shraddhesahit
kasaa hoshi tyavin tu swamibhakt?
kitida dilaa bol tyanich haat
nako dagamagu swami detil saath ||

Vibhuti naman naam dhyanadi tirth
swamich hya panchpranaamrutaat
he tirth ghe aathvi re prachiti
