Ekadashi in september 2024

This Ekadashi, which falls in the Shukla Paksha of the Bhadrapada month, is dedicated to the Vamana avatar of Lord Vishnu and also reveres Lord Ganesha.

Devotees believe that fasting on this day washes away past sins and bestows blessings from both Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.

Ekadashi (एकादशी)

Ekadashi has immense religious and spiritual significance in Hinduism. This day is considered an auspicious day as it is dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu.

On this day, devotees worship Lord Vishnu and observe a strict fast and the fast begins on Ekadashi Tithi and is broken on Dwadashi Tithi. There are two Ekadashi in a month during Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha and there are a total of 24 Ekadashi in a year.
