Step 1: Preparation for the Puja

  1. Choose a Clean Space: Select a clean, calm area for the puja, ideally near a picture or idol of Lord Vishnu.
  2. Gather Materials: Arrange necessary items like flowers, tulsi leaves, incense, diya (oil lamp), sandalwood paste, rice, fruits, sweets, and a kalash (water pot).
  3. Fast and Pray: Many devotees observe a fast on this day to purify the body and mind before the puja.

Step 2: Bathing and Purification (स्नान और शुद्धिकरण)

  1. Take a Bath: Cleanse yourself by taking a bath before beginning the puja.

      Vande vishnum bhavabhayaharam sarvalokaikanaatham."

      Meaning: "I bow to Lord Vishnu, who is peaceful, reclines on a serpent, has a lotus navel, is the Supreme Lord, holds the universe, has a cloud-like complexion, and possesses a pleasing form. He is the consort of Goddess Lakshmi, has lotus eyes, is accessible through meditation, and removes worldly fears."
