1 - Preparation for the Havan
- Choose a clean and sacred space to perform the havan.
- Set up a Havan Kund (sacrificial fire pit) and gather the materials such as ghee, samagri (mixture of sacred herbs and wood), cow dung cakes, cotton wicks, and camphor.
- Place the idols or images of Goddess Durga and her nine forms (Nava Durga) on the altar, along with a kalash (water pot), flowers, fruits, and other offerings.
2 - Purification (Shuddhi)
- Sprinkle the area, yourself, and the materials with Gangajal (holy water) to purify everything.
