After analyzing the situation, they confirmed that October 31 is the ideal day for Diwali, as it aligns with Pradosh Kaal, an important period after sunset, which is considered best for Laxmi Puja.
Why October 31 is Ideal for Diwali Celebrations
Experts pointed out that on October 31, the Pradosh Kaal lasts from 5:12 PM to 7:43 PM, making it the perfect time for performing Laxmi Puja.
On November 1, however, the Amavasya Tithi ends at 6:16 PM, leaving a much shorter Pradosh Kaal and reducing the time available for the puja.
In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Arknath Chaudhary, former Vice-Chancellor of Somnath Sanskrit University, stated that, according to the Rajmartand Granth, Diwali should be celebrated on Chaturdashi mixed Amavasya, making October 31 the appropriate day for Diwali in 2024.

For those celebrating on October 31, the best time for Laxmi Puja is during Pradosh Kaal, from 5:12 PM to 7:43 PM. This is considered the most favorable period to seek the blessings of Goddess Laxmi.
