Lohri is a popular winter festival of Punjab, which is mainly celebrated by Sikhs and Punjabi Hindus. This festival is celebrated with joy and gaiety on the eve of Makar Sankranti, a day before it.
15 days before the day of Lohri, boys and girls sing folk songs and collect wood and cow dung cakes for Lohri. On this occasion, clothes, sweets, Revdi, fruits and other gifts are sent from the parents' home of married women.
