Shivratri Vrat is a monthly fasting festival that comes 12/13 times a year, hence this fast is also called Masik Shivratri. Which comes on the Chaturdashi day of Krishna Paksha before Amavasya. Out of the monthly Shivratris, two are most famous, Falgun Triyodashi is famous as Maha Shivratri and the other is known as Sawan Shivratri. This festival is dedicated to Lord Shiva-Parvati, on this day devotees offer Belpatra on Shivling, the symbol of Lord Shiva.

What is the worship method of Masik Shivratri Vrat?

• On Chaturdashi Tithi, wake up in the morning, take a bath and wear white clothes.
• The resolution of the fast is taken by lighting a lamp in front of the Lord.
• After fasting the whole day, one should go to a temple and worship during Pradosh Kaal.
• If you cannot go to the temple, then you should worship by installing a Shivling at a clean place in the place of worship or home.
• Abhishek should be done on the Shivling with milk, curd, honey, ghee, Belpatra and Gangajal.
• During the worship and Abhishek, keep chanting the Panchakshari Mantra of Shiva Ji, Namah Shivaya.
